• Aged between 18 and 65
• A Native English Speaker (or fluent)
• General suitability for teaching abroad for one year (presentable / healthy).
• Hold a valid passport with at least two years still to run.
• No Criminal Record (Police clearance certificate)

In addition, the candidate must have:

• A Degree AND / OR a TEFL / TESOL qualification. * Those who are currently working towards a TEFL / TESOL qualification will be considered.
• School Leaving Certificate
• Some work experience would be preferable, but not essential.

We do however offer all our Graduates assistance with job placement and career advice. It is important that job applicants are aware that some countries require teachers to have both a Bachelors degree (in any discipline) and a TEFL/TESOL certificate, whilst others only require a TEFL/TESOL certificate. It is important that you take responsibility for finding your own employment as this shows a certain degree of resourcefulness which employers consider a valuable trait when employing new teachers.

Here you will find a number of Job Boards which advertise hundreds of current teaching positions advertised around the world. These are updated daily. Find a job which you feel you may be interested in and email them a Cover letter with attached C.V., photograph and a copy of the front page of your passport. If a potential employer is interested in your application you may be asked to forward further documentation. When the employer is satisfied that you are a suitable candidate for the job and would like to consider you for a telephonic interview, then the employer will contact you directly * In most cases, where you are invited to interview, a job offer will be made at the end of the interview. The details of your Employment Contract and details must be discussed with the employer directly.

You are responsible for negotiating the exact terms of your contract. Visa and Work permits are usually organized by the employer and they will request all the required documentation to be sent to them. We at Teach English Abroad do not enter into any discussions and disputes regarding employment contracts and the specifics thereof. This is considered a matter between employer and employee.
